BLANTYRE—A highly disappointed Goldie from Nigeria was Sunday evicted from the $300, 000 Big Brother contest three weeks before a winner is declared.
Goldie, who cried at the end of the show, was the 10th housemate to be evicted from Upville, effectively ending the domination of Nigeria whose contestants won in last three years.
The eviction of Goldie from the popular show seems to have shocked her and some viewers after they thought Namibia’s Lady May, Kenya’s Prezzo and Uganda’s Kyle would leave as they were up for eviction this week.
Head of House Keagan from South Africa saved himself and chose Kyle as his replacement.
“Unfortunately, I nominated you,” Keagan told Kyle when asked by show presenter IK.
Survivor Lady May had the highest number of votes by fellow housemates but IK simply told her she wasn’t going anywhere. Lady May has been nominated several times but on Sunday night she heard the most important words.:
“You are safe tonight,” IK said. “You’ve been saved by Africa.”
When Prezzo and Goldie were the last two on the set, IK asked them if they’d save each other. Both said they would but IK simply said: “Goldie, Africa has decided. You are the fifth housemate to be evicted."
Big Brother showed Goldie footage of her performance stay and performance in the house. When she was shown housemates that had nominated her, Goldie was even more shocked to discover that Keitta from Ghana was among them. She said she’d though being a fellow West African, Keita wouldn’t nominate her.
“At the end of the day, God decides,” she said.
On her affair with Prezzo, she said she loved him. She’d met different people in the house but she’d feelings for Prezzo, she said.
