BLANTYRE--Ex-minister and Speaker Davies Katsonga is mulling forming a new political party, after he announced his intention to quit the leadership-crisis laden UDF.
Katsonga, who quit the DPP to rejoin the UDF, was quoted by the Nation as saying by next week people would know which direction he would take, saying it will be in the "interests of this nation.”
He said his quitting the UDF was being driven by "people of goodwill" who had realised that there was no future in both camps of the divided UDF.
The UDF has been split into the Atupele Muluzi and Friday Jumbe camps.
Humphrey Mvula, the second vice president in the Jumbe camp, said Katsonga was simply exercising his right by quitting the UDF, saying in life people have different aspirations, ambitions and future plans.
