
MZUZU--Police in Mzuzu are investigating theft of one million kwacha from a vehicle belonging to Jonathan Sibande in the city’s Chibavi township.
Police Publicist Maurice Chapola said the incident occurred during Sunday night.
“Thieves broke into a parked Pajero vehicle registration number MZ 9865 belonging to Jonathan Sibande and went away with money amounting to one million kwacha among other items,” said Chapola.
He said the incident happened while everyone was asleep in the house. Less than two months ago, thieves broke into two houses in Mapale and Katoto and went away with money and other valuables worth over eleven
million kwacha.
Meanwhile police are in Mzuzu are appealing to the public to provide any information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects.
“We further advise residents in the city to be on guard of their property, and make sure they don’t leave cash and other valuables in parked vehicles that are unattended to,” Chapola said.
