MZUZU--About 3 300 new voters registered during the just concluded registration for the October 9 bye-elections.
Commissioner Bernard Malango, a retired Anglican Archbishop, disclosed this Monday during a live debate by all contestants at Edingeni TDC.
Malango said the new registration means there are 34 816 eligible voters in the constituency which was left vacant after lawmaker Khumbo Kachali was appointed Malawi's vice president.
The Commissioner said the candidates should deliver manifestos to the people other than fighting outside the spheres.
He said he was pleased that so far there have been no reports of violence which should be encouraged to continue.
