BREAKING:

LILONGWE—Ralph Kasambara, a government critic, was rearrested Wednesday, a few hours after he was freed on bail and celebrated his freedom with a horn-hooting convoy in Blantyre city.

According to his lawyer Wapona Kita, “police say proper procedures were not followed in releasing him on bail.

"We are following the police convoy to see where they are taking him and for what purpose," he said.

Over 20 armed officers went to Kasambara's house to take him back into police custody.
