Stakes will certainly be high at the People's Party convention. This is a ruling party after all.

I am sure the PP secretariat has organised security for delegates and observers. Obviously the head of state being the principle delegate both the army and the police will be in full force. But there is always that semi-official party youth militia that imposes itself to man security. This shadowy crew of riff-ruffs is what spoils the security organisation of such gatherings.

If you check the so-called 'youth morale' of the PP you will notice people - not exactly youthful - that have had dalliances with the MCP Youth League, the UDF notorious Young Democrats and the DPP rowdy Youth Morale. Where they painted themselves red and green they just paint themselves blue or orange to complete the metamorphosis.

While the professional security personnel in the army and police will check the delegates’ invitation cards or IDs these people will look at faces. If they do not like you it will not matter whether you have proper invitation letters or ID. They will simply throw you out.

The sad thing is that oftentimes the official security personnel pale in the presence of these pseudo-security masters. If the PP is really interested in its image it must reign in these hoodlums. They always spoil an otherwise brilliant event.
