Chitsulo eyes golden boot

LILONGWE--TNM Super League defending champions Silver Strikers’ forward Tony Chitsulo is confident he can pip the current league top scorer Vincent Chinthenga for the challenge.

The Bvumbwe Research striker Chinthenga has already found the net nine times this season in 11 league encounters.

However, Chitsulo scored a hat trick on Saturday in their victory against Moyale Barracks to add to his personal tally and make it 5 goals for this campaign.

“I am happy that I have scored three goals in this game, we played well but our team is still improving and we hope we can regain our best form. Personally, I am still improving,” he said. “The first thing is to help the team finish on position one this round and eventually defend the league.”

Silver Strikers assistant coach Sibusiso Padambo said “today [Tony] wasn’t at his best but he still managed to score three goals.

“We will try to help him work hard in training so that he can score more goals for us this season.”
Padambo said his side has enough depth and “I think this will help us in our bid to retain our title this season.”
