LILONGWE--Blue Eagles coach Dickleck Msakakuona says the team’s recent 2-0 win against TNM Super League heavyweights Big Bullets was inspired by the presence of Inspector General of Malawi Police Loti Dzonzi.
The cops – Blue Eagles - have struggled this season and went into the match have only won two games thus far. However, the team played its best soccer which ended with a two-nil victory.
Said Msakakuona of Loti’s attendance:
“It was a big boost to the confidence and morale of the boys to play in front of him. We tried our best to come up with the best result possible.”
The couch says each time Dzonzi has watched the team play, they haven’t lost.
“This was his third game [for him] to attend and in the last encounters we drew against Escom and Kabwafu.”
Msakakuona appealed to supporters to have patience.
“We just want to ask our fans that they should be behind us even when the team isn’t doing well, it means a lot to the team.”
