BLANTRYE--Soccer fans especially followers of the Mighty Wanderers and Big Bullets will on Friday have uncommon occasion of winning and dinning with players of the moment Frank Gabadinho Mhango and Joseph Kamwendo at a dinner dance organized by the two clubs loyalists.
The dinner dance will take place at Capital Hotel in the capital city Friday evening where the two players will show up as special guests, according to the organizers.
The two rival teams have joined hands to raise funds for their clubs apart from encouraging the spirit of co-existence among them.
Interestingly, the fundraising venture comes at a time when the two teams are expected to battle it out the Standard Bank knock out semi-final at Silver Stadium in the Lilongwe.
“We can confirm that the central region Bullets committee supporters have a chance to interact with the player of the moment Gabadinho Mhango. Likewise, Wanderers supporters have a chance to brush shoulders with their matchmaker Joseph Kamwendo,” said one of the organizers, Steve Banda.
The two teams are expecting bag about K3 million from the event where government officials will be also in attendance. The tickets are going at K5,000 whereas tickets for VIP and a table for 10 ten have been pegged at K10,000 and K150,000 respectively.
“We have organized this event not only to raise funds but also to demonstrate to people that we are rivals on the pitch but not outside the pitch; we are friends and we should always avoid violence,” said Banda.
