MZUZU--About 20 players plying trade in the Malawi’s TNM Super League switched clubs during the transfer window period that closed Friday, October 12, 2012.
Escom United first choice goalkeeper Charles Swini, according to Super League of Malawi (Sulom) has joined the currently league leaders Silver Strikers, popularly known as the bankers. Civo’s striker Welani Nyirenda descends to the southern region to join the people’s team, Big Bullets.
“Welani has moved to Big Bullets on swap deal with Wyson Nkhana. Names of players not appearing on the transfer list are still with their respective clubs,” said Sulom general secretary Williams Banda.
Bullets have also beefed up their squad with winger Dalitso Sailesi from Blantyre United. While Azam Tigers have taken on board Chikondi Mpulula from Blue Eagles on swap deal with Charles Ngosi who was loaned at the latter at the beginning of the season.
The Standard Bank Cup champions, Mighty Wanderers have signed three players, Mapopa Kent Msukwa, Chimwemwe Chitedze and Mike Kaziputa from Azam Tigers. The Nomads have also signed their former goalkeeper Kingsley Manda who was at the Bullets.
Sulom also indicates that Benjamin Issa, Takondwa Issa, Lemani Nthara and Steve Unyolo have to Kamuzu Barracks from Epac FC. The Soldiers from Kaning’ina, Moyale Barracks have signed goalkeeper McDonald Harawa while Lawrence Phiri has joined Bvumbwe research from Escom United.
