Mzuzu based giant killers, Super Eagles, a youthful squad from Chibavi in the city pulled the shocker whacking the peoples team Big Bullets 2-1 at Mzuzu Stadium. The high flying Eagles which in the first half was leading 2-0 was a marvel to watch. The troubled Big Bullets scored the consolation goal in the second half through Heston Muthali.
At Mzuzu university ground aka "Thengere Stadium", Mzuzu University F.C struggled to beat Blantrye based BNL produsac F.C . The game ended a 1 all draw during full regulation time and Mzuni proved their superiority in post match penalties beating the visitors 4-3.
But as if the torture inflicted by Super Eagles and Mzuzu University students to the southern region football teams was not enough, Karonga Vendors F.C traveled all the way to Blantyre to give super league team Blantyre United F.C also a simama football lesson beating the country's elite league team 1-0 at BAT ground.
Elsewhere, Moyale Barracks F.C, Silver Strikers, Mighty Wanderers, Civo United and Blue Eagles have also sailed through to the next round of the competition.
