iReport: Mouthwatering netball fixtures despite lack of sponsors

KASUNGU--After launching the Lilongwe and District Netball League two weeks ago the league enters its second week with mouth watering fixtures over the weekend.

The league has kicked off even though there’s no sponsorship and 18 teams has shown interest to compete in league in 2012/2013.

In an interview General Secretary Zacharia Kasakula said the league`s first round is expected to run until December.

But he said the league currently has no sponsors.

“My appeal goes to all wishers to assist the development of netball,” he said.

This weekend Civonets and ABC Lady Lions travel to Airborne to play Airborne Sisters. Defending champions Blue Eagles Queens start the campaign by travelling to Area 25 at Kalambo netball court to face Splash Queens and Ocasor Sisters. Model Sisters will host KB Ladies and Area 30 Socials at Lilongwe community centre ground. ADMIN Queens play PREKA DON and Green Sisters.
