I wish to speak in support of those who are suggesting the ousting of President Lazarus Chakwera’s Tonse Alliance government administration for failing to fulfill promises made to Malawians in 2020.
The current regime must indeed be voted out of power because of the various inefficiencies among which include high corruption and the devaluation of Kwacha which has led to our service delivery and the increase in prices of goods and services.
Malawi is going through a very difficult economic crisis, the Tonse Alliance Government is failing to manage the country’s currency’s valuation; they are failing to steer the nation towards self-reliance, economic growth, and stability.
The President has focused on non-stop travel abroad and locally instead of focusing on local industry strength, agricultural investment, and maintaining a unified stance.
Malawi cannot turn these challenges into stepping stones towards a prosperous future looking at how the current leadership is handling corruption, governance, rule of law, financial management, infrastructure development, and many more.
The immediate effects of the Kwacha’s devaluation pose serious challenges, but I don’t think they serve as a way for
essential economic reforms and progress.
Tell me one African nation that has developed itself through the IMF policies; you won’t find any because the International Monetary Fund is simply “Katapila” money lenders with high-interest rates meant for Nations that do not have any option but to borrow from them.
Go back to the history of China, you will see how they managed to move from Poverty to prosperity. They sat down and agreed to clear all debts and moved away from borrowing then started doing what they needed to do while Chakwera was busy borrowing more from “katapila” (IMF). It won’t just work for Malawians that’s why he must pack and go back to where he came from.
This crisis in Malawi’s economic journey is just a meaningless challenge that will bring nothing to this country but down to its knees. We need zero tolerance for borrowing to build a more self-reliant and prosperous future.
The call to remove the government is appropriate and the best thing to do if we want to save Malawi from the hands of thieves, bandits, and looters who have no love and direction for developing this nation.
The voting out of office of Reverend Lazarus Chakwera from the State House in the coming 2025 election could lead to an economic bounce back, as his government has failed to perform by all standards.
I wish to urge all Malawians of goodwill who have lost hope in this government to register in their largest numbers and vote for their next government of choice which will put the economy back on its feet.
