FCB Nyasa Big Bullets to play in Mponela for first time

By Edwin Mbewe

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The quadruple winner of the 2023 Malawi Elite Football, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, is set to grace the Champion Stadium in Mponela, Dowa, for the very first time.

The upcoming matches will see Bullets face off against Kalembelembe from Dzaleka, Dowa, and the recently promoted Central Region Premier Division League outfit, Chatoloma ADMARC from Kasungu, on the 9th and 10th of March 2024 at Champion Stadium.

These fixtures in Dowa align with the team’s preseason activities as Malawi’s football giants diligently prepare for the upcoming season.

Albert Chigoga, Chief Administrative Officer of Bullets, confirmed this development during an interview from Blantyre, stating, “We have indeed scheduled two matches at Champion Stadium in Mponela. These are training-friendly matches, and we will be heading to Mponela after our trip to Mangochi.

“Experiencing different environments is beneficial for a team, and we believe these trips will significantly contribute to our preparations for the new season.”

Msaiwale King Kabvina, the owner of Champion Stadium, was overwhelmed with the news that Bullets accepted the invitation to play the friendlies at the facility.

He said, “We extended the invitation to the People’s team as our facility is earmarked to host several Super League matches this season. Numerous elite teams have approached us to designate Champion Stadium as their home ground, so we want renowned teams like Bullets to familiarize themselves with the atmosphere here.

“Discussions with other teams are ongoing, and we are open to welcoming all teams as they gear up for the 2024 season let confirm to the sports fraternity in Dowa that the team has arrived safely and doing training at the facility.”

Chigoga also revealed that the TNM Super League, Castel Challenge Cup, Airtel Top8, and FDH Bank Cup winners, Bullets, are poised to engage in international friendlies before facing Silver Strikers on the 30th of March 2024 at the Bingu National Stadium in the NBS Bank Charity Shield, marking the official kickoff of the new season.
