LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Former UTM Director and cum-political activist Bon Kalindo aka Winiko on Friday, October 21, 2022 disputed social media claims that purportedly he got ambassadorial post in Brazil therefore after was send back due to his HIV status.
Kalindo told the news conference that he has been in Malawi only that he made a decision not have sole demos anymore.
Winiko was responding to The Maravi Post questions as to why is endorsing October 27, 2022 demonstration against President Lazarus Chakwera’s incompetence after social media reports that he was out of favour hence bitterness.
“That photo which was circulating on social is me at certain lodge in Mangochi not in Brazil. On allegation that I was send back to Malawi due to my HIV status, I can challenge, we be at ABC clinic for a test. I’m fully health.
“These are Tonse Alliance government media stint to dent my image before the public. This wont work. I’m Bon Kalindo. I can’t be intimidated. I have always with Malawians through out. We need leaders that act to the locals needs,” dares Kalindo.
He added, “We wont stop telling President Lazarus Chakwera and his vice Saulos Chilima that have failed to govern us. They have lost the mandate of the people. This is why I’m endorsing October 27, 2022 demos”.
Reverend Chakwera is yet to meet Malawians expectation two years in power as his Tonse administration is grappling with high cost of living, forex and fuel shortages, rampant of corruption, nepotism and favoritism in public office appointments.
