…….Fleetwood Haiya unpacks Transforming the game blue print a head of next week’ FA Polls….

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The Super league of Malawi President who is also the Presidential aspirant for the forthcoming Football Association of Malawi (FAM) elections Fleetwood Haiya on Saturday 9th December 2023 unpacked his blueprint titled “Transforming the game”,
The auspicious occasion which was witnessed by among notable guest,Minister of Information Moses Kunkuyu, Minister of Local Government, Paramount Chief Kyungu took place at the Bingu International Convention Centre in the capital, Lilongwe.
The event also drew representatives from all the nine (9) Football Association of Malawi affiliates including; SULOM, Beach Soccer, National Women’s football, National Football Coaches Association, National Youth Football Association,National Referees Association, Central Region Football Association, Northern Region Football Association and Southern Region Football Association.
Haiya’s blueprint which has fifteen (15) goals has dwelled much on Capacity building, Technical development, building strategic collaboration for football development, transparency and accountability and legal reforms.
Haiya said will strengthen partnership with Malawi Schools Sports Association (MASSA) and Tertiary Sports Association of Malawi (TESSAM) with an aim of reinstating the game from the grassroots.
He further said,Youth football is pinnacle of his agenda hence the need to rejuvenate national youth football by training referees, administrators and identify sponsors.To establish academies across the country that will help in scouting and nurturing the talent.
In addition, Haiya said that he will be declaring the funding FAM receives from FIFA,CAF or any other sponsors and reinstate the relationship with international stakeholders.
On coaches and Referees, the SULOM president said that he will improve their standards by establishing Secretariat, refresher courses,trainings at national and district levels,enhance capacity by sending them in other countries including Germany, Brazil which the country has the MoU with.
He also promised to increase the subvention.
Goal number 7 which is Women’s football, Haiya promised to uplift the sport at all levels,to introduce competitive National Women’s leagues and sourcing sponsors for the regional leagues at the same time increasing the subvention.
On the Malawi’s Super league, he lamented that he will lobby for the minimum sponsorship of MK500 million. Teams to get 60 percent of the gate revenues, restructuring of TV rights.
Fleetwood HaiyaTo lead in the commercialization drive in clubs and to increase the subvention to MK20 million and to embrace technology such as the introduction of the E-Ticketing to reduce fraud .
Fleetwood Haiya is challenging the incumbent FAM President Walter Nyamilandu who has been on the helm for 19 years in the next week’s polls.
