LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Indian government on Friday, October 18, 2024 donated 1,000 metric tons of rice to Malawi in response to President Lazarus Chakwera’s state of disaster declaration to 17 districts.
The donation was made after Chakwera held bilateral talks with the president of India, Droupadi Murmu at Kamuzu palace in Lilongwe.
During the talks MoUs on Youth and sports, pharmacy and local governance were signed.
India also made a donation of cancer equipment which will be installed at Kamuzu central Hospital.
India President Murmu was in Malawi for bilateral trip.
