LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Leader of opposition, Kondwani Nankhumwa released his shadow cabinet list which has not gone well with his Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) describing it as not procedural.
Speaker of Parliament, Catherine Gotan Hara announced the list on Friday, February 11, 2022.
DPP spokesperson Shadrek Namalomba who is not in the list described the shadow cabinet as conflicts to the party.
He said the party makes appointments outside parliament and the shadow cabinet is only meant for members who are in the August house.
Namalomba observes that there is no law that authorise shadow cabinet in the august house.
He said it could have been wise for the leader of the opposition to just choose spokesperson for the tasks.
The development comes barely days after DPP National governing council(NGC) lead by Ken Msonda urged the party members to unite and set a date for NGC meeting which decides the leadership of the party.
The cabinet list has 24 cabinet ministers with six deputies.
