Mayamiko Kanjere is Malawi’s best 2023 Referee

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The centre referee Mayamiko Kanjere has been awarded as the 2023 best referee.
Kanjere has therefore lauded the Super League of Malawi (SULOM) for the honor.
Kanjere alongside two others was warded as best centre referee and assistant on Saturday, January 27, 2024.
“It’s a joyous moment and I appreciate the award, this will push me to reach great heights in the forthcoming season. SULOM and Referees are partners in the football circle hence this gesture just shows the solidarity and good working relationship which is there.
“SULOM has changed for the better and we are grateful to the leadership and management”, excited Kanjere.
SULOM announced the 2023 Referee Awards as follows; Best Centre referee: Mayamiko Kanjere.The best 1st Assistant referee: is Happiness Mbandambanda and 2nd Assistant referee is Lameck Phiri.
The three were voted by the country’s referee body, the National Football Referees Association (NFRA).
As per the Super League of Malawi (SULOM), the decision to recognize the best referees underscores the important role the officials play in maintaining the integrity of the game but also highlights the league’s dedication to fairness and sportsmanship.
