Shadreck Kalukusha, managing director of Sound Addicts Live, has assured fans that the event will proceed as planned.
Kalukusha confirmed that the concert is set for October 26, 2024, at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe. “Contrary to these rumours, the tour has not been cancelled. The show is still on,” he said in a statement released to the media.
Rumours regarding a possible cancellation had spread on social media in recent days, leading to anxiety among fans eagerly waiting to see the legendary Jamaican artist perform. However, Kalukusha emphasized that there is no cause for concern and that preparations are well underway for the historic show.

“We want to inform the public that the rumors being spread on social media are false. The concert will take place as announced, and it will be everything we promised,” said Shadreck Kalukusha, head of Sound Addicts, one of the key organizers of the event in Malawi. “To dispel any doubts, people can watch a video where Burning Spear himself addresses these false rumors and confirms that the event is still on,” Kalukusha added.
The concert is set for October 26 at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe and will feature several other talented artists from Malawi, including Lawi, Sangie, Ma Blacks, Born Afrikan, Sean Morgan, Skeffa Chimoto, Phyzix, Zembani, and more.
