Umodzi SACCO boosts Mkwichi primary school with 50 desks

By Twink Jones Gadama

Mkwichi Primary School has received a significant boost to its infrastructure, courtesy of Umodzi SACCO, which donated 50 desks to the institution.

The gesture, aimed at improving the learning environment, was warmly received by the school community.

Esnath Moya, Headteacher of Mkwichi Primary School, expressed profound gratitude to Umodzi SACCO for the timely donation. “We are thrilled to receive these desks, which will greatly enhance our students’ learning experience,” Moya said.

Christone Pondakwawo, Board Chair of Umodzi SACCO, emphasized that the donation serves as a token of appreciation to the school community, many of whom are members of the SACCO.

“As an organization, we recognize the importance of education and our responsibility to give back to our members in the sector,” Pondakwawo noted.

The donation reflects Umodzi SACCO’s commitment to corporate social responsibility, particularly in the education sector.

By providing essential learning materials, the organization aims to create a conducive environment for students to thrive.

Mkwichi primary school’s challenges

Prior to the donation, Mkwichi Primary School faced significant challenges, including a shortage of desks, which often forced students to sit on the floor or share limited seating.

This hindered their ability to focus and learn effectively.

The school’s infrastructure has been a concern for some time, with teachers and parents struggling to provide adequate resources.

Umodzi SACCO’s intervention has brought relief to the school community.

Umodzi SACCO’s commitment to education

Umodzi SACCO has consistently demonstrated its dedication to supporting education initiatives.

Through various projects, the organization has helped improve infrastructure, provided educational materials, and sponsored students’ tuition fees.

“We believe that education is key to unlocking individual and community potential,” Pondakwawo emphasized. “As a SACCO, we are committed to empowering our members and the broader community through education.”

Community reaction

Parents and teachers at Mkwichi Primary School have welcomed the donation, praising Umodzi SACCO for its generosity. “This donation will make a significant difference in our children’s education,” said Mary Chiluzi, a parent.

The school’s management has assured that the desks will be utilized effectively, ensuring that students benefit from the improved learning environment.

Conclusion

Umodzi SACCO’s donation of 50 desks to Mkwichi Primary School marks a significant investment in the education sector. As the school community continues to benefit from this gesture, it serves as a testament to the organization’s commitment to giving back and empowering its members.

By supporting education initiatives, Umodzi SACCO demonstrates its dedication to creating a brighter future for Malawi’s youth.
